Gonzalo Saavedra

Gonzalo Saavedra Pérez Salas studied medicine in Mexico and subsequently completed a Master´s degree in Medical Immunology and Infection at the University of Bonn. In 2021, he started his PhD at the Institute of Experimental Oncology in the Glodde lab. During his PhD he will focus on establishing an innovative and dynamic generic nanobody-based CAR T cell platform. Using CRISPR-Cas9 genome engineering techniques, multiparameter flow cytometry and intravital imaging he will investigate the therapeutic efficacy in solid cancer mouse models and study resistance mechanisms as well as complex tumor and immune cell interactions.
