Maike is an early career postdoctoral researcher. She was part of the DFG-funded Bonn & Melbourne Research and Graduate School Immunosciences (IRTG2168) and received her PhD in early 2020. She graduated from the Institute of Experimental Oncology at the University Hospital Bonn, Germany and The Peter Doherty Institute of Infection and Immunity at the University of Melbourne, Australia. During her PhD studies she focused on resistance mechanisms to adoptive T cell immunotherapy in melanoma using experimental mouse models, CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing technology and multi-colour flow cytometry. Since graduating Maike has started her first post-doctoral position in the Hölzel lab. She is currently investigating the spatio-temporal context of T cell expansion and persistence during adoptive T cell immunotherapy using the high-plex immunohistochemistry technology CODEX® and spectral flow cytometry.
